Yane has an inverted sense of smell and finds that bad smells smell good because of a spell cast on her when she was in her twenties. As a result, she often tangles with her neighbors over her smell, because as a hyena, she takes pride in her stench and tries to stink as much as possible, and often ends up getting into fights with people who criticize her.

Because of her unbearable stench, Yane is all alone. She acts tough and pretends that solitude doesn't bother her, but she secretly wishes she could meet and live with someone who would love her stench as much as she does.
