Feral

Feral animals are "animalistic" versions of animal species. They evolved differently from animals that started walking on their hind legs like Nermal and still exist today, but their intelligence is generally lower and they are unable to communicate.

The Chase effect

Ferals are sometimes bred in captivity for food, or the resources they can provide, but ferals and anthro of the same species almost never cohabit together because of the "Chase effect", anthros instinctively see their feral version as inferior, which causes them discomfort. There are no feral foxes in the fox country, and no feral wolves in wolf country.
